This composition was born from a album by Key Glock and realization I had while writing my senior-year final paper in high school. A paper about how music is one of the most powerful tools used to control, influence, and manipulate society. That paper, album, and influence evolved into this work of art. This composition tells a story of defiance, of rising without permission. At its core stands an independent artist, untouched by the industry’s control, embodying true self-made independence. Beneath him lies his origin, a world of concrete, struggle, and loss. It represents the slums, the soil where dreams were buried young, and survival came at the cost of sacrifice. Yet from that same soil, he rose with relentless will. This piece challenges the system built to mold minds and silence truth. While standing as a tribute to those who carry the weight of independence. Who choose to not fold, compromise, or sell their soul for approval or success.
